On Thursday Oct. 6, at Brooktree Golf Course, the Owatonna Girls Cross Country team competed against Eagan, Northfield and thirteen other teams. The season is coming to an end with just a few more meets left: Mankato, Big 9 and state.  As a whole team, they have been working their hardest and the results have been evident. It is important to note that both high school and junior high students have been doing exceedingly well. Senior Sara Wall had her best time for the season so far, a low 21 minutes. “I’m hoping to get below twenty minutes before the end of the season,” said Wall.

Many seniors are getting emotional over the end of the season because it is their last year on the team. “As a senior, it’s a little bit emotional as you finish up,” said fellow senior Anna Weisenburger.  Even though the seniors are leaving, there are hopes that the underclassmen will keep the team running strong and proud with these next meets and upcoming years.
