The Owatonna Boys Lacrosse Team is off to a great start to their season. They have earned an impressive record of 5-1. In the boy’s last game against Rochester Mayo, they won 17-5.

After missing the season last year due to COVID-19, the boys are excited to be on the field competing again. So far the team has outscored their opponents 54-20 and average just under 14 goals a game. Senior Captain Zack Kirsch said, “We are having a really good season. We’re looking to continue our undefeated season.” The team is solid all around with experienced leaders in each position.

The team also has very talented players. As of Thursday, April 29, players Preston Meier and Zack Kirsch are in the top ten for goals and assists in the state. Head coach Scott Seykora said, “I am excited to actually have a season and watch the players development from start to finish. We have a very talented group playing this year and I am excited to see their teamwork and determination.” The team is off to a great start and hope to carry the good momentum through the duration of the season.

The boys next game is against the Northfield Raiders, Thursday, May 6 at 7:30 p.m.
