Sipping into the holidays with Starbucks

Every year coffee drinkers wait for that magical time of the season when Starbucks releases their holiday drinks. This year the holiday drinks came out on Nov. 3. Along with the release of the drinks they also come out with their iconic cups. Every year they have new designs that are featured on these cups.

Starbucks has had some well liked holiday drinks over the years. The annual fan favorite beverages that are offered during this time are: Peppermint Mocha, Caramel Brulée Latte, Chestnut Praline Latte, and the Sugar Cookie Almond Milk Latte, all of which you can get either hot or iced. Junior Katrina Ethen said, “I think the seasonal drinks are a good idea because people look forward to them and they have a lot of different and unique flavors that are really good.”

Even with Starbuck’s numerous drinks, a new drink was added to the menu this season as well, the Iced Gingerbread Oat Milk Chai. This drink is an add on to the chai tea but with oat milk and flavors of gingerbread to add holiday spirit. This drink has had mixed opinions from people, with some liking it and others not as much. Sophomore Emily Mcmasters said, “I think it would be good for people who like gingerbread and chai but if you don’t like gingerbread, this wouldn’t be the drink for you.”

This drink can be found on the Starbucks website. Starbucks described this delicious drink. Starbucks said, “Warm chai spices, creamy oat milk and ice, topped with frothy oat milk infused with gingerbread-flavored syrup and a spice topping to create a unique and festive feel-good moment.”

One tradition that Starbucks does during the holiday season is their Red Cup Day. On this day if you order a fall or holiday drink you get a free reusable cup with your order. This year’s Red Cup Day is on Thursday, Nov. 16, so stop by to get your free cup!

Starbucks also offers holiday pastries and treats during this time as well. Some of the most well known foods are cranberry bliss bar, snowman cookie,  the sugar plum cheese danish, along with the gingerbread loaf and the peppermint brownie cake pop.

There are various Starbucks locations, so don’t miss out on your chance to get your favorite  holiday drink before they are gone for the season.
