Rules for the 2024 Magnet March Madness Pool

OHS Magnet is holding a March Madness tournament for the 2024 season.
Ethan Armstrong
OHS Magnet is holding a March Madness tournament for the 2024 season.
  • OHS Magnet is hosting a March Madness bracket for the whole school to participate in. March Madness is a 64-team tournament that hosts the best 64 men’s college basketball teams in the country.
  • Only OHS students and staff are allowed to participate.
  • Each participant is only allowed to fill out one single bracket.
  • All brackets must be submitted before the start of the first games on Thursday, March 22, at 11:00 a.m.
Keep track of your total points on the CBS Sports app.
  • This is free for OHS students and staff.

Scoring will be done as follows:

  1. The play in games do not count towards the total score.
  2. Correctly guessing a winning team from the first round of 64 teams will result in 1 point per team correct.
  3. From there, each team guessed correctly will result in an additional point for each round per team (two points for the second round, four points for Sweet Sixteen, eight points for Elite Eight,16 points for Final Four, and 32 points for correctly guessing the two teams in the championship game).
  4. Correctly guessing the champion of the 2016 NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship will award the individual with 64 points.
  5. Correctly guessing the exact score of the Championship game will result in the reward of 15 additional points and serves as a tie-breaker (Championship game-winning score).
  6. The bracket that scores the most points will win a t-shirt that gives the wearer bragging rights (donated by Court Sports).
  7. There will be periodic announcements on who is in the lead.
  8. The winner will be announced within 24 hours after the championship game results.
