Summer high school drop in grief support

OHS offers summer support group. (photo submitted.)

OHS has experienced two student deaths over the last four years. The OHS social workers and counselors have put together a grief support group throughout the summer. This is a way to share stories of love and loss. It is important that everyone has the opportunity to open up and be heard, in a no-pressure environment.

Students who are struggling with grief come together with support from counselors and social workers. These sessions will be very laid back. Pizza will be provided during the sessions. OHS social worker Nancy William said, “I’m hoping it will bring some healing and comfort to OHS students who are still grieving and struggling with their emotions.”

These support groups will be held on Monday, June 10, July 1, July 29 and Aug. 19 at noon. Meetings will be at at Trinity Lutheran Church, 609 Lincoln Avenue. Owatonna.
