OHS had many athletes commit this year on National Signing day. OHS had commits in Swim in Dive, Wrestling, Softball, Volleyball, and Tennis.
Kalleigh Malecha – Kalleigh Malecha will be attending Gustavus Adolphus College. Malecha is going to continue her athletic career competing at the Division III level in swimming for Gustavus. The reason Malecha chose Gustavus was because both the athletic and music departments are very kind. The reason she chose to continue her athletic career is because she “wants to continue achieving my goals in swimming and stay active.”
Lane Karsten – Lane Karsten will be attending University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point and will be studying Forestry. Karsten is going to continue his athletic career competing in Division III wrestling at UW-Stevens Point. The reason Karsten chose University of Wisconsin, Stevens Point is because of its Forestry program. The reason he chose to continue his athletic career is because he always wanted to wrestle in college.
Lilly Trager – Lilly Trager will be attending Central College and will be studying Communications and Business. Trager is going to continue her athletic career competing in Division III softball at Central. The reason Trager chose Central College is because it was close to home and she would have the option of continuing to play in orchestra as well as softball. The reason she chose to continue her athletic career is because she loves softball and couldn’t bear not playing after high school.
Morgan Hansen – Morgan Hansen will be attending Rochester Community and Technical College (RCTC) and will be studying Nursing. Hansen is going to continue her athletic career competing in NJCAA for volleyball. The reason Hansen chose RCTC is because of their nursing program and that it was close to home. Hansen said, “I chose to continue my athletic career because it was just hard to believe that I might have been done forever with volleyball after high-school, but knowing that I can play for a couple more years and do what I love and make more friends sounded like something that would be exciting after high-school.”
Emma Herzog – Emma Herzog will be attending University of Wisconsin, La Crosse and will be studying Education. Herzog is going to continue her athletic career competing in Division III tennis. The Reason Herzog chose University of Wisconsin, La Crosse is because she liked the campus and its location. The reason she chose to continue her athletic career is because she has always enjoyed tennis and wanted to keep playing.
