Kobe Bryant, Shaquille O’Neal, LeBron James, Magic Johnson, Jerry West and many others are legends of legends in basketball history. They all originate from the same team, the Los Angeles Lakers. Adding onto the list, a new player appears from another team joining the Lakers, Luka Doncic.
Recent Lakers player Anthony Davis, a ten-time NBA all-star. Playing over 700 NBA games and making just below 19,000 points in his career, was traded off of the Lakers team along with Max Christie only for the Lakers to get the better end of the deal by acquiring Luka Doncic as well as Maxi Kleber and Markieff Morris. Which absolutely crashed the news and some people’s hopes, especially fans of the Dallas Mavericks.
Some people are even calling this one of the worst trades of NBA history. Being 6 years apart of age, Doncic is the obvious better player and the Lakers clearly getting the better end of the trade by a long shot. Doncic was previously a Mavericks player who has played 422 games in the NBA with over 12,000 scored points.
Some people think the Mavericks are worried by Luka’s injury or even some clash between him and the coach, possibly leading to the decision of the trade. However some think the Mavericks may even be better off without him. Was the trade truly a good idea for the Mavericks to get rid of a recently injured star player or are the Lakers set once again to raise yet another basketball legend?
