The Owatonna Boys Lacrosse team is looking forward to growing as a team throughout the season. The Huskies finished with an overall record of 8-4 for their 2024 season as well as being crowned Big 9 champions. Their season ended in the quarterfinals against the Northfield Raiders who had a record of 8-7. This season they are excited to see their capabilities and growth as a team.
In preparation for this season the Huskies have had captain practices, making sure that the team is ready for the upcoming season. The boys have prepared for this season, not just in practices but also outside of practices. Senior Captain Nolan Soller said, “I’ve been preparing myself because I play lacrosse year round and have my stick in hand everyday.”
The Huskies currently have a record of 2-2 and are first in the Big 9 conference. They just recently won a close 13-9 game against Sartell/Sauk Rapids. The Huskies have shown their commitment to this team by working hard in practices, and also making sure that they are going into games with positive attitudes. Senior Captain Michael Heitkamp said, “I’m excited to see how far we can go this season, and see how the team progresses throughout the season.”
The Huskies are going to work hard this season in hopes to meet their goals and to see how far they can get this season. The Huskies might have their ups and downs during games or practices, but it does not stop them from trying their best and working together to get through games that may be more challenging than others.
The boys next game is on the road on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. against the Andover Huskies.
