The last few days of school are ending and summer is right around the corner. Nice and warm air, loads of free time, and good opportunities just waiting to be fulfilled. However, oftentimes the opportunities can go to waste. Coming back to school after the three months may be an upset, as you may start to regret and realize how you spent the time and what it could’ve been. Here are some freshly picked ideas so you don’t have to think too hard.
With friends or family
- Cook up a meal – This can be an extremely humorous and entertaining activity, especially doing it from scratch.
- Spend a night with ghosts – Book a hotel room or Airbnb and sleepover in an allegedly haunted building. See if you’re a believer or not. (Some examples: Palmer House Hotel, The Boyd House, Villisca Axe House.)
- Explore the wilderness – Get a breath of fresh air and maybe a tick on your leg while camping in a tent or taking a hike.
- Go jogging or biking – A great way to stay physical and while at it maybe even grab a bite and eat in a park. Maybe even test your endurance and join a 5K.
Productive
- Get a job – Right now is a good time to start looking for a job.
- Get into a healthy habit – Summer time is a very significant opportunity to get into a habit, like a good morning or workout routine or even something more simple like meditating in the morning.
- Think about the future – The future may seem like a very overwhelming topic, and it definitely is but it’s also a very thrilling thing too. Look at colleges and jobs to pursue.
- Read a book – A very educational, relaxing and time-consuming thing to do, and possibly even think about writing your own book.
Things To Try
- A new restaurant – There’s different things to try in town. You could try new restaurants. There were a few different restaurants that opened up recently that you could try, there’s Dunkin’ Donuts and Chipotle.
- A new usual – You can switch up things and do something different than what you usually do, something as small as getting something different than your normal Starbucks order.
- A new hobby – You can learn to play a new instrument or try photography. Try and do something new.
- Night activities – You could try biking or taking a walk at night and enjoy the peace. Or lay out under the stars and enjoy the night.
Places To Go
- The Blast/The Scream – Go get a nice cold treat at two of the most popular ice cream places in town.
- Sparetime Entertainment – Go bowling, play in the arcade, do some laser tag or get a bite to eat in the restaurant.
- Waterpark – Go cool down and swim at the water park. Try out some of their water slides and lazy river.
- Target – Go shopping or looking around at all the things they have. Clothes, furniture, food, etc.
