Owatonna High School presents Ho-Ho bingo on Dec. 17 during Compass class. The student council chose to make Dec. 17 pajama day also to bring more holiday spirit into the school.

Members of the student council have had different roles when preparing for Ho-Ho bingo. Senior Sofia Maas student council Historian states, “We made this script and we set up the decoration and are the funny comedians” Maas and Senior Noelle Kubicek were the MC hosts on the youtube live for all the class to watch and participate.
Once students get a bingo they get to run down the hallway yelling HO HO HO. Freshman Evan Guenther said, “No shame in who you can be, I mean I was running down the hallway screaming HO HO.” People can feel welcome and included because this event is for all the students during compass class which people have to go to.
The student comes down to the media center and student council members excitedly help check bingo cards. After getting good bingo they can go get their prize. Senior Kubicek, Vice President of the student council says, “Student participation is like hearing that the prizes were good this year” The prizes help motivate students to participate and love Ho-Ho bingo. Bingo winner Guenther explains, “It gives a price worth wanting to win so it creates more energy.”

During this long hard week before winter break it’s nice for people to take a little break from school work and bring the holiday spirit. The extra time though compass gives students the chance to try and slow down with the mountains of school work. Having it being PJ day, can influence people to be more calm. Ho-Ho bingo can bring that cheer and brightness to someone’s day. Guenther shares, “Christmas spirits were tiny bit low, and there was still some energy but after this event it’s very high” Maas explains on more reasoning the holiday spirit has been brightened. “We’re all dressed up, we’re singing holiday songs with all the decorations and yours running down the hallway yelling, HO HO HO.”
Dec. 17 during the compass class everyone enjoyed HOHO bingo connecting the school together with the hard work on the OHS student council.
