As spring arrives in Owatonna, the Owatonna High School Boys Lacrosse team is preparing for the start of the 2026 season, with a renewed sense of focus and determination.
After a 2025 season filled with both strong performances and tough matchups, the Huskies are looking to build on their experience and take a step forward this year. With several returning players and new athletes joining the roster, the team is working to develop strong chemistry early on.
The boys are coached by head coach Scott Seykora and assistant coach Christopher Wolfe, and led by captains: Trey Hiatt, Wyatt Macy, Cooper Aul, and Logan Risser.

Practices began shortly after the snow melted, with players adjusting quickly to outdoor conditions. They have focused hard on fundamentals and team chemistry.
“Everyone is starting fresh,” Junior attack Brennan Kath says. “We’re working hard to improve and come together as a team.”
The 2026 schedule features familiar opponents, including teams like Northfield High School and New Prague High School. These matchups will provide early tests and help set the tone for the rest of the season.
Team captains and coaches alike have noted a stronger level of communication and effort during early practices. Younger players are stepping into bigger roles, while returning athletes are helping guide the team both on and off the field. Senior captain Logan Risser says, “Our younger guys really need to step up this year. So far, they have done a good job at practice.”

The Huskies have their first game on the road against Farmington on Apr 13 at 7:00 pm, Junior Kade Hullopeter says “This first game will be one of the hardest games of the year, it will be a good test for our team, especially our younger guys to see how we respond, but we can definitely win if we work hard and work together.”
As the first game approaches, the Huskies are focused on improvement and consistency. While wins are always the goal, the team is also committed to building a positive and competitive environment.
With a mix of experience and new talent, the Owatonna High School Boys Lacrosse team is ready to begin its 2026 season and represent the school with pride.
