Amal Mohamed, Editor in Chief
Amal Mohamed is a senior at Owatonna High School and this is her second year in Magnet. Mohamed is involved in DECA, Student Council, RAD, Yearbook, and HOSA. She also spends her fall doing Tennis and Spring doing Track. She hopes to be able to get to know the new magnet staff, get more SNO badges, and connect with the school through her publications. After High School Mohamed plans to go to a 4 year college. Some fun facts about her is that she loves the color navy blue and her favorite movie is Saturday Night Fever.
Ramala Dahir, Writer
Ramala Dahir is a Junior at Owatonna High School and a first-year staff member of Magnet. For her future, Ramala is exploring undergraduate programs that combine her interests in healthcare and business administration. She joined Magnet to pursue her passion for journalism and to hone her writing skills. Her career aspirations are focused on a leadership role within the healthcare industry. At school, she is involved in activities such as DECA, Recognizing American Diversity, HOSA, Link Crew, and Student Council. Outside of school, she enjoys playing and watching basketball and tennis.
Brooke Hagel, Editor
Brooke Hagel is a senior at Owatonna High School. Hagel joined OHS Magnet because her cousin was involved and she wanted to meet new people. Hagel has been involved in Magnet for 2 years now. Hagel plans to attend college for 2 years and stay close to home, majoring in the dental field. Hagel is also in the OHS Yearbook and an OHS cheerleader for football and basketball. Hagel enjoys going for walks, hiking, and being outside with her golden retriever, June. Hagel has been working at the Blast for 2 years and truly loves being around others and enjoying each other’s company. Hagel is excited to see what the OHS Magnet year brings and all the new voices that she will be able to connect with and hear from.
Emma Meiners, Editor in Chief
Emma Meiners is a Senior at Owatonna High School. This is Meiners’ second year in Magnet. She continued with Magnet because it was so much fun her first year. Meiners is taking on as an Editor-in-Chief, which is a new role to her this school year. She is involved in DECA and Young Life. Meiners plans on going to college after high school, but is still undecided where she would like to continue her education. Meiners’ goals for this school year in Magnet is to improve her writing and editing skills.
