Senior Kaylea Ahrens and senior Marandes Schultz preparing to return a serve.

Sitting with a record of 19-9-0, and being the number two seed, the Owatonna volleyball team is anticipating a successful post season. Beginning with a home game, they face Hastings at 7:00 pm on Friday, Oct. 24. Senior Marandes Schultz said, “I’m excited and nervous but ready for the game and I just wish it was here already.” The team has constantly been improving with tough competition and vigorous practice throughout the season. They have a great advantage as a really close team. “There is a lot of passion and drive and we are a really close group of girls,” said Schultz. Support them as they battle their way to state.

UPDATE: The Huskies were beaten against the Hastings Raiders in a 3-1 upset. The Huskies fought hard and battled to the very end, but they could not gain the victory. They lost the first set, won the second, lost the third, and in the fourth set they put on a show by coming back from losing 22-13 on a 12-2 run, but they sadly lost the fourth set. Congratulations on a good year and best of luck to the seniors moving on in their sports careers next year.
