Undefeated once again
The OHS football team is now undefeated in the Big 9 for the second year in a row and for the fourth time in school history. The team is heading into section playoffs 8-0 in the season. They had earned a first round bye on Tuesday night and are now getting ready to host Austin on Saturday night at 7 p.m. On Sep. 27, the team beat Austin 49-26. Senior captain Ian Langeberg said, “They’re good, and they are definitely improving and getting better. We are hoping to win.”
After being a runner up at the state tournament last year, Coach Jeff Williams said, “Our kids have come back very hungry to see if they can get back to the dome and see if maybe they can find a way to win the last game.” The boy’s most recently played Rochester John Marshall on Oct. 16 and beat them 35-7. This was the first game in two weeks that the team has been able to play a full football game. Coach Williams said, “It was good to get back in there and play a full football game and be challenged by a solid opponent, which JM was. We really have to play well in order to win, which we did.”
