The key to life
For a number of years, the members of Key Club have been serving people in need throughout the community. Despite what people think, Key Club does not make keys; they are an organization linked with the Kiwanis Club that looks for volunteer service opportunities in the area. “Key Club is a great opportunity for students to interact with people who have similar desires to impact their community in a positive way while making friends,” said Ella Rasp, vice president of the Key Club staff. Also on the Key Club staff are Kelly Neubauer as president and Bailley Leppert as secretary. Ms. Herr, teacher advisor for Key Club, said, “I like how people can get involved in the community and just volunteer. You can do it with your friends, and do a lot of different things.” Recently, Key Club has participated in Feed My Starving Children, highway cleanup, selling peanuts for Kiwanis, and pumpkin carving for nursing homes. New members are always welcome especially with upcoming events such as serving food at Italian Night, lighting luminaries at the Village of Yesteryear, and serving at a Toys for Tots dinner. See Ms. Herr in room C-201 or Kelly Neubauer for more information about membership.
