The OHS Boys Soccer team is heading to state after a big win against the second seed Farmington. After an intense battle the boys pulled through in sudden death overtime with a goal from Senior Abukar Fakrudin. Goal scorer and senior captain Mitchell Mayer said, “It’s a huge honor and I’m glad that the team didn’t quit after going down 1-0. They were a good team, but we came together and turned things around, so it’s amazing to finally see everything pay off.” Hard work off the field has shown off tonight with a final score of two to one Owatonna. Congratulations to OHS Boys Soccer team. More details on pepfest and the state tournament coming soon.
“
When these guys play as hard as they do and we’ve played in sections five years in a row it’s awesome. You could see the goals and the footwork coming before it happened. It’s exciting to see where these guys will go.”

“
It was awesome. I thought we had great student support. The pep band played as good as they ever have with a great half-time show. It was a fun atmosphere. Congratulations to the boys.”
