OHS Election
November 8, 2016
Every four years, the students in OHS have a voice, regardless whether they are of voting age or not. Dean Walter has continuously held a mock presidential election at OHS since 2000. His political science class has been discussing this year’s election at least once a week during their class. The students are surveying the student body of Owatonna High School with an election to see which OHS students want to be the president. All students grades 9-12 have the opportunity to participate in this OHS election.
Voting will happen today on election day, Tuesday, Nov. 8. The voting will be held during each lunch. Each student will receive a ballot, and they will vote for those in the presidential race of 2016. The students involved have been working hard to create this election and accomplish this experience. The results will be announced at 2:25 p.m. on the announcements at OHS, the same day as when the students vote. The class is hoping to get a great turnout to show the power of the voting process.
