Will you accept this rose: Hometown dates

Braxten Blood, Writer

Believe it or not, the Bachelor is more dramatic than ever before. In the past few weeks, Nick and the ladies have continued on their travels around the world. After being in Nick’s hometown, the contestants went to New Orleans and the Island of St. Thomas.

In New Orleans, Rachel Lindsay was picked to go on the one-on-one date. Girls were terrified when the group date took place at a haunted house where the most dramatic date this season took place. The typical two-on-one date with Corinne, Taylor and Nick was heated because the girls have not gotten along thus far. An the end of the date, Nick decided that his relationship with Corinne was stronger than his relationship with Taylor and sent Taylor home.

A week later the next episode continued with the situation between Taylor and Corinne. Taylor found Nick on his date with Corinne. She talked to Nick about Corinne, her behavior and their problems together. Nick stayed with his decision to keep Corinne, but he thanked Taylor for watching out for him.

The journey around the world continued to the beautiful Island of St. Thomas. As soon as everyone arrived on the island, there was a one-on-one date with Kristina. They explored the island and ended the date with a deep conversation. Nick took the ladies to the beach to play volleyball and enjoy the beautiful white sand. The group date turned out to be awful as the date was awkward and ended uncomfortable. The beautiful island did not correspond with the date. Surprisingly, there was another two-on-one date with Danielle L. and Whitney. Even though the two-on-one date was a surprise, it was a bigger surprise to see Nick send both of the ladies home.

The Island of St. Thomas had many unexpected turns and events. This past week, Nick has sent home many girls, and he was shook  because of it. Nick left St. Thomas feeling hopeless and unsure whether he should continue the show.

Just when viewers thought the drama could not get worst, it did. Senior Sam Mundale said, “I can’t believe how dramatic this season is. For whatever reason the girls just don’t get along at all and cause so much drama. I can’t wait to see what comes next!”

The elaborate dates continue as the idea of Nick getting on one knee comes closer. The season is progressing and the ladies are more tense as they want their relationship to workout. Unfortunately, not all of them can win Nick’s heart and tension rises as Nick does not have a rose ceremony in the most recent episode. Nick has realized that there are stronger relationships with the remaining girls than the ones he sent home. He decided to tell the ladies this instead of having a rose ceremony.

Spoiler Alert: they have already announced the next bachelorette. The next dramatic episode will air on Monday, Feb. 20 at 7:00 p.m.
