Junior Marie Otterson puts on the green

The OHS Girls Golf team has had an interesting season up to this point. The win to loss ratio on the season is not up to par, but the Huskies are continuing to look for improvement. The Huskies are somewhat young as eighth grader Haley Zemple and freshman Leah Seykora are key contributors and share a part in the overall success so far. Head Coach Tim Hunst commented on the team’s potential,  “We have a young team, and when you have a young team, you look to your senior and junior players to step up and lead. Junior Marie Otterson is leading the team in points and is setting a great example.”

The Huskies shot a team score of 456 during Owatonna Invite at Owatonna Country Club golf course. Otterson clubbed a 97 and also cracked the top six individual scores against Winona, Eastview, Albert Lea, Lakeville South, Rochester century and Heritage Christian. The Huskies are on the green Monday, May 15 in Austin, and have their last scheduled Big Nine Conference meet on May 23 at the Mississippi National in Red Wing.
