On Thursday, Dec. 5, the Owatonna wrestling team defeated the John Marshall Rockets 61-16 in a Big Nine Conference meet. Junior Spencer Sorenson, who did not wrestle on Thursday, said, “Going into Thursday, we knew there would be a lot of forfeits, but the guys who competed did well and have raised expectations from last year.” Chandler Bauer said, “we’ve had to step up without the football guys and with Tanner Cole being unable to wrestle on Thursday it was really a good win for us. Jake Woodrich and I both won matches that easily could have gone either way so again it was just a big victory for us.” The team has five wrestlers with an undefeated record thus far. Senior Chandler Bauer and freshman Tanner Cole are 3-0 on the season along with Seniors Jake Woodrich, Tyler Sorenson, And Tyler Vogt who have records of 1-0.  Their next meet is in Chanhassen on Saturday, Dec. 14, at 9:00 am.
