Ms. Mary Waterhouse
Ms. Mary Waterhouse is new to OHS this year. When asked why she became a teacher she said, “My mom and sister were teachers, and I liked helping kids to understand concepts.” This is her first year teaching, and she said she is starting off strong. Ms. Waterhouse is teaching biology for sophomores and academy physical science. She chose OHS because she is originally from Wisconsin at a school with a similar curriculum, and here there are many opportunities for students and faculty.
Some of her hobbies include singing, watching movies, hiking, and being outdoors. Her original plan in college was to become a music education major but drifted towards biology. This year, Ms. Waterhouse wants to make a connection with students, and get her students to trust her. Ms. Waterhouse had this to say about OHS, “So far the OHS has been great, the teachers have been supporting and welcoming and so has the community.” We’re glad we have Ms. Waterhouse joining our OHS staff.
