A fresh, new season
The boys swimming and diving season has begun and the team is excited about setting and achieving goals. Junior River Roehrick said, “Since we lost a lot of our seniors last year, this year we have a lot of new faces so our main focus this season is basically to just help the new swimmers, teach them what we know, get them ready for meets, and see how well they perform.” The team has had two meets so far. Their first meet was on Thursday, Dec. 5, in Rochester and their last meet was on Thursday, Dec. 12, here against Albert Lea. Go check out our boys swim and dive team in action at their next home meet on Thursday, Dec. 19, at 6:00 p.m. and it will be held here at the OJHS against Century. Junior Aaron Evans said, “I’m very thrilled that the season is finally here, and I’m even more thrilled to see how it ends. Swim and dive is real fun, everyone should join!” They also have a meet over winter break, on Friday, Dec. 27, at 6:00 p.m. against Mankato East, and another home meet after the winter break against Northfield on Tuesday, Jan. 7.
