New year brings new music hits

Music can be a stress reliever, conversation point or just something to fill the room with good vibes. Throughout the years, music has changed drastically. Many new styles and genres have been formed based on people’s preferences. The music industry has developed new ways to reach its listeners. People can be found listening to music on radios, tapes, speakers and using on-demand music streaming. The year 2018 has brought new music along with new artists. 2018 has already provided many new hits, and here is a list of the most recent top 10 songs being listened to.
- “God’s Plan” by Drake – An unexpected song and took everyone by surprise. His music video displayed no elaborate storylines or special effect; insead he was simply followed around Miami while he gave away his label’s $999.631 budget to those in need.
- “Meant To Be” by artist Bebe Rexha, Featuring Florida Georgia Line – The collaboration between pop singer Bebe Rexha and the unique country duo of Florida Georgia Line turned out to be a top hit song.
- “Psycho” by Post Malone, Featuring Ty Dolla $ign – At just age 22 Malone has created many great songs like “Rockstar”, “Congratulations”, “White Iverson” and many more. Malone is also set to release a new single called “Beerbongs and Bentleys” which is a highly anticipated song everyone can’t wait to hear.
- “Finesse” by Bruno Mars, Featuring Cardi B – Mars has earned his ninth number one song on The Billboards passing Justin Timberlake. Cardi B notches her first number one pop song.
- “Look Alive” by rapper BlocBoy JB, Featuring Drake – Memphis rapper broke out last summer with his song “Shoot”. He got Drake’s attention and now then collaborated and released the song “Look Alive”. This collaboration brought out the best in both rappers.
- “The Middle” by EDM artist Zedd, Maren Morris and electronic duo Grey – Zedd is known for writing and producing pop hits with artist like Ariana Grande. Grey is a Los Angeles based electronic music duo.
- “Havana” by Camila Cabello, Featuring Young Thug – This song became an international success. “Havana” has now become the proper lead success in Cabello’s launching album.
- “Freaky Friday” by Lil Dicky, featuring Chris Brown – The collaboration between these two artist resulted in having the song reach top charts in other countries as well.
- “All The Stars” by Kendrick Lamar and SZA – this song reached international success, as well with the music video showcasing Africa’s culture and Africa’s vibrant print clothing.
- “Mine” by American singer, Bazzi – His song has been streamed over 70 million times across the world and over 11 million views on YouTube. At just 20 years old he is one of the youngest stars to have their music make the top charts.
Not in the top 10 list in the country, but “Perfect World” by Jazz Davis, makes one of Magnet’s top lists – She is a student of OHS, and her song was released on April 13 to iTunes and spotify. The OHS is proud of her music talent.
