The Owatonna Boy’s Track season has had its fair share of ups and downs since the beginning of their season. A lot of their track meets have been postponed, or even cancelled, due to the constant snowfall this spring. They have only had one (indoor) scrimmage at MSU and a one full (outside) meet at Faribault High School. MSU was just time trials, but Owatonna did bring home 1st place from the Faribault meet. They were able to beat the second place team (St. Peter) by 150+ points. The season has been slow with all the late snow in April, but the team is still prepping for the rest of the year. Head Coach Kevin Stelter said, “We’re pretty much strong in all areas, so we just want those guys to get out there and compete.” Stelter, along with the rest of the team, is looking forward to the rest of the season.

The team is sharing their high hopes to become Big 9 champs this year. Lead by senior captains Bryce Knutson, Brandon Schmidt, Ben Stelter and Alex Raichle, they are ready to attack the rest of their upcoming meets. Senior Captain Knutson said, “The seasons going great. We’ve had one real meet. We went out at that meet and took it to the competition and had a lot of great performances. The team is looking strong and hopefully we can keep that going.” The team is set and ready to go the distance this track season. The next home meet will be on a Tuesday on May 15th.
