Mr. Jacob Haarstad

OHS has welcomed Mr. Jacob Haarstad as a new English teacher in the building. Mr. Haarstad graduated from Saint John’s University with his English Degree, and he chose to be an English teacher because of his passion for the subject and love of literature. Prior to he OHS, Mr. Haarstad taught for three years at Armstrong High School in Plymouth Minnesota, and was a substitute at various schools in Minnesota. Mr. Haarstad said, “Once I got to know the staff and the building it seemed like a good fit for me.”

Outside of school, Mr. Haarstad’s hobbies include hanging out with friends, listening to music and watching sports. Coaching was one of his inspirations to becoming a teacher.  He hopes to join the basketball staff this upcoming winter.
