The Owatonna Boys Cross Country team has had an amazing start to their season with a recent second place finish at the Jaguar Challenge. The team started the season off against Faribault where they placed eighth out of 18 teams. The team’s second meet resulted in another eighth place out of 28 teams at the Mayo Invitational just falling behind Rochester Century and Austin.

The team brought their game face game when they went to the Jaguar Challenge in Bloomington. The team took home home second place out of 19 teams, and Trevor Hiatt took first place with a time of eight minutes and six seconds. The next meet was the biggest high school cross country event in the nation with 517 runners competing. Nathan Buegler said, “To prepare we are working hard in practice, doing all of our lifting, stretching and focusing mentally.” With all  the pressure, team was able to achieve 33 place out of the 55 teams that were present from all over the midwest.
