In the fast lane now
The Owatonna boy’s swimming team’s season has been going well with a record including one win against Albert Lee. Senior captain Quentin Slagter said, “We’re trying out new swimming practices so it’s a little different than what we’re used to, but it seems to be paying off.” The team also has new coaches this year Sam Hager and Peter Rhodes. “We’re dropping our times pretty consistently overall and doing well in meets,” said Slagter. “I’m feeling really well about the season. Our team’s just doing great on personal times, getting personal bests across the board in all the events, which I’m really happy to see with everyone. It just keeps us positive,” Slagter said when asked about how he is feeling about the season. The swim team’s next home meet is Thurs. Jan. 30 at the Owatonna Junior High School at 7 p.m. and the cost is five dollars to get in.
