Snow Week at OHS marks the beginning of an exciting time for students and staff. After a weather delay, The 2019 Snow Week kicked off Monday, Feb. 11 with a Pepfest in the gymnasium. It was at this time that the OHS student body crowned seniors Cade King and Jasmyn Harris as this year’s royalty.

For many seniors, the opportunity to be elected king or queen is a highly anticipated event and something they will remember forever. This year’s royalty is no exception to that. Cade King said, “It means a lot being named the Snow Week King, being that I transferred here as a freshman and didn’t know anybody. It’s just really cool that they picked me.” King is a standout wrestler and plans on attending South Dakota State University to wrestle after graduation. During his free time, King enjoys hunting, fishing and eating ice cream. He also loves hanging out with friends and learning new things in school.

This year’s Snow Week Queen, Jasmyn Harris, shares much of the same enthusiasm that King does. Harris said, “It’s awesome that your classmates notice you for once.”  Outside of school, one could find Harris working at the Northwood Cinema 10 movie theater. When she is not at school or working, Harris likes to hang out with friends, watch The Office on Netflix and sleep. Following graduation, she plans to attend St. Cloud State University to study psychology.
