The final movie in Marvel Studios’ Avengers series, Avengers: Endgame, was released April 26, 2019. In the previous Avengers movie, Infinity war, released April 27, 2018, heroes were left in dire circumstances and the audience in anticipation of what could possibly happen next. In Endgame, the Avengers must confront their most dangerous enemy after some time living in defeat. Being the final movie in Marvel’s most successful series, Avengers: Endgame has grossed over 300 million dollars in its opening weekend alone. Directed by the Russo brothers, Anthony and Joe Russo, the movie has proven to be one of Marvel Studios crowning achievements despite being over three hours in length.

This is the last movie made by the legendary comic writer Stan Lee, and the last of his well-known cameos. However, fans will be happy to know his name, as well as the name of his once co-writer Jack Kirby, appear during the credits as the film is in their memories. Despite the end of their largest movie campaigns, Marvel has shown little sign of slowing their movie production. Other Marvel movies connected to Endgame to be released so far include Spider-man: Far From Home, to be released on July 5, 2019, and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, set for release in 2020.

In both this and the last Avengers movie, there would be permanent changes to the cinematic universe, featuring drastic lapses in time and dynamic character development, creating an opportunity for even more spin-off movies and shows. Senior Cameron Stiles said, “It has such an amazing plot.” This final film affects almost every non-independent film and series related to the Marvel world and could be the beginning of the end to many branching movie series.
