Owatonna Boys Golf is getting back into the swing of things. The team opened their season against Northfield at the Owatonna Country Country Club on April 9. The early spring weather has not been cooperative for the team: the boys golf team has only had four practices outside prior to their first two meets.

The team captains this year are juniors: Joey Brueggemeier and Ryan Rowher and senior Nolan Jacobson. Coach Mark Langlois is ready to get back outside and help the team put the work in at practice. He said, “Our goal is to improve each meet by managing the course and emotions better. We would like to finish in the top five  of the Big Conference and make it to day two of sections.” Jacobson is ready to get back on the green after missing all of last season. Jacobson said, “My goal is to break the 100s and help the underclassmen out to prepare to be the future of OHS.”

The team is ready for cooperative weather this season and to play some golf. The team’s next home meet is on Thursday, May 9, at Brooktree Golf Course vs. Northfield at 2 p.m.
