The OHS Girls Tennis team had a great season this year. They finished 13-7 overall and 8-3 in the Big 9 Conference. The team had a great day at the Big 9 tournament. Senior Sara Anderson finished in second place for one singles, as did Megan Johnson for two singles. Sophomore Olivia Herzog finished in third place for three singles. Senior Leah Tucker and Caitlynn Bussert  at one doubles did not place against their tough competition. Senior Liv Matejcek and Sophomore Alex Huemoeller finished in fourth place for two doubles. Seniors Jade Hanson and Nicole Skalicky also finished in fourth place for three doubles.

Individual sections were on Oct.10 in Rochester with Anderson and Johnson in singles, and Tucker, Bussert, Herzog and Huemoeller in doubles. Every position moved on throughout the day; however, no one will be moving on to state. Head coach Curt Matejcek, reflecting on the season, said, “The team made steady progress all season long, and we had a great season overall.”  Sara Anderson said, “Driving all the way up to Litchfield, leaving at 5:50 in the morning, just for it to get cancelled.”The team concluded their season on Oct.10.
