Team celebration after a point is scored

After starting 0-4 this season, the team has won three of their last four games. The team has relied on its 11 returning letter winners and five returning starters to use their experience to lead the team. During a back and forth match against Austin, the Huskies pulled out a win in the 5th set in the match.

Captains are seniors Kaitlyn Madole, Anna Vetsc, Ruth Livingston, and junior Haylee Mullenbach. Madole said, “We started off our season slow in the win column, playing the top teams in the conference; however, we keep working hard at practice. We hope to continue leading this trend leading up to sections.”

In mid-September, the volleyball program underwent a coaching change, bringing back former head coach Jason Kaytor. Kaytor said, “I am having a great time with this team. They are fun, hard-working  and coachable athletes.” The girls are excited about Kaytor being back, seeing that teams were very successful under his coaching in the past. The Huskies will finish their regular season on the road against Rochester John Marshall. The team is also gearing up for section play which starts on Oct. 23.
