October 21, 2019
The boys cross country team is running strong this season. As fall is nearing and the weather is getting colder the team is looking to make a solid finish. The team is five meets into the season and have three left to go. On Aug. 27 the team traveled to Austin invitational. After a long race the team came out victorious in its first race of the year. Head coach Dave Chateline had this to say about the hot start to the season, “ We are off to a pretty good start this season, placing in the top five in our first four races” Preston Meier has led the team in all of the meets this year and is looking to make it to state.
On Friday Oct. 4, the cross country team made their annual run with the football from the visiting teams town. This has been a tradition for the cross country team to do on homecoming. Senior captain Phillip Koslosky said this about the team, “ I’d love to see some kids go to state this season, we have a strong team this year and are looking to make a push.” Philip provides the team with tons of energy and is a strong leader for this team. The big 9 meet is Tuesday, Oct. 15 at Brooktree golf course in Owatonna. The section 1AA meet is Thursday, Oct. 24 also at the Brooktree golf course.
