Senior Sara Anderson has been a cornerstone for the Owatonna Girls Tennis team since her freshman year when she started at four singles for the team, eventually moving up to one singles by her senior year. In Anderson’s senior year, she recorded a record of 20 wins and six losses, reaching 100 wins within her career. This year, Anderson was a team captain, was named all-conference and received academic all-state honors. Anderson said, “To be considered as one of the top players for Owatonna Tennis is an honor as I follow a long line of great tennis players.”

Along with her impressive tennis career, Anderson was also named junior athlete of the year. Anderson, who also plays point guard for the OHS Girls Basketball team, is looking forward to another successful season and is looking towards improving and building up the team after leading the team in points last year. Anderson said, “Our goal is to improve and compete at the top half of the conference because we can only go up from last year.” Anderson, who also runs track, has been one of the top sprinters on the team and has competed at the state track meet a number of times.
