Ms. Nancy Benson is a new staff member joining the ranks at the Owatonna High School this year. She works with the activities director Marc Achterkirch to accomplish these behind the scenes tasks.

She worked at Wilson Elementary for the past eight and a half years as the principal secretary. Ms. Benson was looking for a change but wanted to stay within the school district. She said, about the high school, “Different challenges and different duties that I have each day, it’s been fun to see some familiar faces of kids that I remember from Wilson.” Being located in the activities office has been quite different from the rush and business of the main office in Wilson. She enjoys the new style of working with older kids instead of elementary-age kids.

Ms. Benson has taken over the tasks of registration for sports through fee pay, coordinating event workers for sporting events and all things included with that: banquets, lettering for students, placing orders, and keeping things in the activities department running smoothly. Ms. Benson can be found in the activities office on the west side of the building by the wrestling room.
