Owatonna Huskies celebrate after a goal

The Owatonna Boys Hockey Team is flying high. With a 16-5, and both two of the three coming from out of conference games the huskies and feeling great going into the middle part of the season. 

The huskies are continuing to get better and developed over the season. Senior captain Collin Pederson said, “We have been clicking as a team and it is fun to see everyone enjoying the season and wanting to give it their all.”  With the team looking to keep the winning streak going they will be needing everyone to step up and continue to play at the top of their game.

The Huskies are being led by a strong group of seniors of Zach Wiese, Collin Pederson, and Austin Mundt also have a core of underclassmen adding value. Coach Lincoln Nguyen said, “Pederson has really stepped up and has found himself on the ice all the time, Wiese in goalie always is reliable, and we have a great group of juniors this year as well.” Junior Dom Valento is leading the team in points, assists and goals. Junior Zach Kubicek has added another 11 goals to help the team with their hot start. Nyguen said, “Everyone has really surprised me with their growth, we just need to keep building off what we have already.” With a huge win 

over section rival Farmington on Tuesday, the Huskies are looking to continue to grow and improve their section ranking.

The Huskies are looking to keep the high tempo high energy seasons rolling into a few more upcoming wins. The Huskies will host Hastings this Saturday at 7:00 p.m. at the Four Seasons Arena.
