Killer Inside: The Mind of Aaron Hernandez is a Netflix documentary about the murders that Aaron Hernandez committed. Hernandez was part of the NFL team the New England Patriots in 2010-2012. Throughout the documentary, it explains how Hernandez was a suspect for the murderer of Odin Lloyd. Lloyd was a close friend with Hernandez. Lloyd was killed on June 17, 2013, the day after Hernandez’s home was searched, and on June 26, 2013, Hernandez was charged with first-degree murder.
Once Hernandez was charged, he was quickly released from the New England Patriots football team. After investigators researched more about Hernandez, they found more evidence of other crimes that he has committed; however, these were overlooked and were never bad enough to put on his record. There are many things that could have caused Hernandez to do this such as his father’s death and his mother’s new boyfriend. This made Hernandez leave the house and not communicate with his mom as much anymore.
This documentary is very interesting considering that Hernandez played almost a full season in the NFL after murdering Lloyd and nobody knew that he was the one who had murdered him. This was very unlike Hernandez to do, he was always known as a good guy and a lot of people looked up to him. After Hernandez’s death at age 27 in prison from suicide his brain showed that he had degenerative brain disease Chronic traumatic encephalopathy. C.T.E is caused by numerous amount of hits to the head which is very likely to happen in the NFL that Hernandez played in. This could have been what caused Hernandez to do what he did but, the viewers will never know. Watch the Netflix documentary to find out more about the full story of Aaron Hernandez.
