New face in a new place
Ms. Cassie Sundell is new to the OHS staff this school year. Sundell grew up in New York but moved to Minnesota after graduating high school. She attended Minnesota State University Mankato. To get her degree and then did her student teaching here at Owatonna high school last spring and applied mid way through her experience. Sundell said, “I picked OHS because I had a really good experience here during student teaching and I feel like overall the environment here is very welcoming and I felt like it was a good place to start my career.” Sundell has been busy in her first year as a special education teacher here at OHS as she is teaching multiple special ed classes as well as co- teaching English 10 with Mr. Wanous.
This is Sundell’s first time teaching at a school, and is handling hybrid learning the best she can.Sundell said, “It’s going pretty good, some days are a little overwhelming and some days run very smoothly, but I think so far I am doing pretty well with it.” Outside of school, Sundell enjoys going to the gym, being outdoors, watching The Office and she stays busy waitressing on the weekends. Ms. Sundell’s classroom is in B 303.
