With a new season starting up, the OHS Boys Track Team is excited to get started and start competing. With three good weeks of practice, the Huskies are ready to show what they got this upcoming Tuesday. The Huskies are led by senior captains Zach Stransky, Nathan Smith, Evan Buck and Jack Titchenal.  The Huskies have really good numbers with around 90 kids on the track team. With about 13 of them being seniors and the other three grades with around 22-25 kids.

The team is looking strong this season with former stand out athletes competing for them in the past seasons. Unfortunately, last season the track teams were not able to compete due to COVID-19. Even with not competing last year, Coach Stelter said, “They’re excited to get back to actually doing something.” The Huskies want to start the season on a good note at their first meet. The Huskies won their first quad in both the varsity and junior varsity division.

With COVID-19, the teams can not bring as many kids to the meets as usual but those who are going are ready to go. Captain Nathan Smith said, “Most of them are getting right back into it and are working their butts off to shake off the rust.” With another few days of practice the Huskies want to show the other teams what they are made of. The Huskies next meet is on April 28 at 4:30 p.m. at Northfield.
