Senior Jonny Wall gets ready to putt

The Owatonna Boys Golf Team is swinging into the season full of optimism. They have a talented team and hope to have lots of success this season. Led by senior captains Brody Homan, Jonny Wall and Sam Snitker, the team is off to a hot start. After missing two of their top seniors during their first meet that ended in a loss, the boys came back strong and won their next against Waseca by a large margin. In their latest meet against a talented Holy Angels team the boys lost 4-5, keeping it close until the last putt.

The boys golf season started March 30 and continues into June. After their season was cancelled last year due to COVID-19, the team is looking forward to playing again. Head Coach Mark Langlois said, “I am really excited to get back on the course and be with my players competing again. We have a good mix of upperclassmen and young, new additions to the team.” The team consists of senior leaders and talented underclassmen. Senior captain Jonny Wall said, “I am excited to get some rounds in with the boys and eat some good food after.” As spring weather is hopefully just around the corner, the Owatonna Boys Golf team is looking forward to warmer weather and a successful season on the course.

The boy’s next home meet is scheduled for Tuesday, April 27, at the Owatonna Country Club where they face off against the Faribault Falcons and Mankato West Scarlets at 2:30 p.m.
