Key Club is one of the many clubs offered at OHS. Mr. Jonathon Miron is adviser and senior Madi Voracek is the president. Key Club is a service organization whose goal is to serve the community with active service hours including; Salvation Army, food shelf, clothesline, breakfast fundraisers and many others. Key Club’s goal is to make a difference and dedicate themselves to serve others to better the community. Key Club has grown from 10 members last year to a record of 60 this year. Sophomore Donte Miller said, ”Well even without joining Key Club serving others has always been one thing I’ve loved and I just want to share that with others and that’s when I heard about Key Club.”  With that in mind, Key Club is offered to anyone to join and to be involved within the community.

Key Club has been helping the community for 22 years. They are sponsored by the Kiwanis organization, Kiwanis is an international service organization that was founded in 1915. Their goal is to serve communities by providing funding for service groups such as Key Club. Students have liked the way Key Club is run because they feel it is a place to be themselves and do something they enjoy to help their community. Teacher and adviser Mr. Miron said, “I see the students here with the want and desire to be here and help the people around them.”

Recently Key Club helped work the waffle brunch fundraiser at the VFW post with SHOC; which is another club that promotes safe and drug free options for the students at OHS. Sophomore Donte Miller said, “Helping with the waffle brunch reminded me how seeing one smile from serving someone really shows me the difference I can make in my community by serving.” Key Club meets every compass day from 1:05 to 1:40 p.m. in the small group forum.
