The Owatonna FCA, also known as Fellowship of Christian Athletes, is a national Christian organization run by a few teachers in the Owatonna Public Schools district. FCA is for student athletes who want to share common Christians beliefs and give glory through the activities members are in.

FCA encourages members to bring a friend to the meetings. Senior Madi Voracek said, “Every other Friday morning before school we have a huddle, and at that we play games and activities, have a snack, do door prizes, and a short Bible study.” Some of the topics that are discussed and can be applied to day-to-day life are; how to make time for God in a busy schedule, glorifying God in sports and how to show love to others.

The group meets in the small group forum or in Mr. Dinse’s classroom G-210. The FCA recently had their Christmas Lip Sync Battle and partnered with the Bethel Church Youth Group. Students got to enter with songs of their choosing and compete for prizes. There were high school and middle school divisions with prizes for both in biggest blunder, best costume and best performance. The prizes that were won were gift cards to OTB, the movie theater, Buffalo Wild Wings and more. At the end of the night, a former teacher came and shared his life story and testimony. At this event, they ended their night with pizza.

Previously the FCA held another event earlier in the year called fields of faith. The FCA continues to hold meetings and their will to keep praising God through all he has done for them- soften this like you did at the top. The next meeting is Friday, Jan. 14  at 7 a.m. in room G-210.
