OHS prepares for an ‘Enchanted Forest’
As spring approaches, so does the 2022 Owatonna High School Prom. The Junior-Senior Prom is scheduled to take place on April 30 at the Four Seasons Center. The Grand March will start at 7 p.m. and students must check in at the Four Seasons Center by 7:30 p.m. to be able to participate in the Grand March. The public is invited to attend the Grand March, and admissions are $5. The Prom Dance will run from 9 p.m.-midnight with a theme of “Enchanted Forest”.
The theme of prom this year brings out magic within the students, reminding them to have a fun night. Prom Committee Adviser Ms. Marilyn Olson said, “This year’s theme is whimsical and enchanting, a place of mystery, magic and possibilities.” Students should come with glass slippers and tiaras ready. If students choose to leave the prom dance, they will not be readmitted until After Prom begins at 11 p.m.
First ever prom since COVID brings Prom Committee to work extra hard for students to have a fun night, with the theme of ‘Enchanted Forest’ Prom Committee can make this happen. Prom Committee Head and junior Mady Simon said, “Prom committee volunteers have been working extra hard to bring back a ‘normal’ prom after COVID. The theme ‘Enchanted Forest’ is reminding students attending prom to have a fun relaxing night with friends.”
Prom tickets in advance are $35 per person, and After Prom tickets are $15 per person. Tickets will be sold in the commons during all lunches, as well as before or after school in the office. Senior Prom Committee Head Maria Mollenhauer said,“ I’m excited to party one last time with all of my high school friends.” Students may pay by cash or check. Ticket sales go through the week of April 20-25.
The theme of Enchanted Forest continues through the night at After Prom, After Prom consists of games and a hypnotist. After Prom will take place in the west rink of the Four Seasons Center from 11 p.m.- 2 a.m. After Prom will require a separate ticket from the dance. After Prom tickets can also be purchased after 11 p.m. at the door for $20.
