Big loss for girls lacrosse
The Owatonna girls lacrosse team is having a tough start to their 2014 season. Bad weather conditions has put many of their practices indoors, or left them outside in the cold windy weather. The girls faced off on the road against Lakeville South Tuesday, April 15 . Lakeville South did not give the Huskies much of a chance as they raced their way to a 14-2 victory. Owatonna was faced with four yellow cards, which is a two minute penalty for each card and having to play down a player for those two minutes. Junior captain Krista Kniefel put up the two points for the Huskies, both coming in the second half of play. Kniefel said, “Lakeville kept winning all the balls. They got ahead right away in the beginning, and we just couldn’t get the momentum to put the ball in the net.” Owatonna travels to Rochester Mayo Thursday, April 17 at 7 p.m. The girls do not play home until April 24 when they host Rochester Century at OHS. They face off at 7 p.m.
