The OHS Boys Wrestling team has a 16-14 record this season as it comes to a close. The team is young, but they are tough. The coaches have been preparing the wrestlers for upcoming sections. This team continues to strive no matter the setbacks.

Junior Michael Reinardy is a team player and has a great attitude when it comes to his teammates and the mat.

Reinardy said, “The season has gone pretty good, I had some pretty big wins and it has been a lot of fun.”

Reinardy also said his biggest accomplishment this season has been beating Rochester Mayo and taking back our ranking. He also has enjoyed seeing how much work the team has put in so far. Reinardy suffered an elbow injury last season and was out for the year. This season has been a comeback season for Reinardy.

Reinardy said, “Coming back from my injury last year was nerve wracking, then I got my first big win back and realized I could not hold back.”

Reinardy said a goal for the team next year is to grow bigger and stronger as a family and to come back with the same hard work and effort next year as they did this year.

OHS wrestling coach Derek Johnson said, “A goal for the team next year is to grow bigger and stronger as a family and to come back stronger and more fierce next year.”

The Huskies will receive the four seed and travel to Rochester Mayo High School for sections on Thursday, Feb. 16. They will wrestle Rochester Mayo and Rochester Century to try and advance into team section finals this Saturday, Feb. 18. Individual sections will be begin on Friday, Feb. 24.
