After 17 years as an assistant, Coach Jason Kaytor will be filling the girls golf head coach vacancy. With the experience Coach Kaytor has, he will be able to step in and be able to lead the team to success.

“I’m looking forward to a strong experienced team. We have everyone back from last year’s section team plus a few young players that will be pushing for spots,” said Coach Kaytor.

One of those members from last year’s section team is senior captain Brooke Kunkel. She said, “With the new head coach this year, it doesn’t feel very different since he has been our assistant coach for many years. We are excited to have him as our head coach now and it is nice to have a coach we all feel comfortable with.”

Individually, Kunkel hopes to improve her scores and become more consistent. With such a young team, she hopes to do the same, but build strong relationships with each other as well.

She says, “My expectations for the season are to make it to the second round of sections as a team as we did last year.”

With practice starting this week, the team hopes to work and improve in preparation for the spring season.
