Spring sports are winding down along with the 2022-2023 school year and the boy’s lacrosse team is nearing sections. The team is led by captains Beckett Seykora, Porter Kuchenbecker, Jack Strom and Caleb Hullopeter. The season started a little rocky, but the boys are trying to find their stride before sections begin on May 30.

The captains are the leaders of the sport they play and have a lot of ideas and goals for their teams as a captain of the team Seykora said, “Stay together, sometimes we fall apart and that’s why we suffer in games, if we can get everyone on the same page we could be a really good team.”

The team goal for Seykora is to unify the team and get some momentum while heading into sections. This team has played almost all of their games in the regular season and are seeking to make a push into sections.

The coach is always the overseer of the sport they are a part of. The boy’s lacrosse team is led by head coach Scott Seykora who has been coaching for many years in Owatonna. Coach Seykora has noticed from the start of the season and how they have progressed is the potential and youth of his team.

Coach Scott Seykora said, “The season is progressing along and the players are improving every game. The team is really young this year and a lot of underclassmen are getting a ton of experience.”

The boy’s lacrosse team looks to gain some momentum while heading into sections and also compete at a high level in order to win. With a great coaching staff and strong leadership from players the boy’s lacrosse team can make a run into sections with the mindset to win. Sections begin Tuesday, May 30 at 7:30 p.m. on the OHS field.
