A great day for golf

The Owatonna boys golf team traveled to John Marshall on Tuesday, May 6. They had a beautiful day to play golf with lots of sun in the sky and very little wind. Owatonna competed against John Marshall and Mankato East. Owatonna Varsity came out with first place, winning with a group score of 323. Mankato East came in second with a group score of 327. John Marshall finished with a group score of 367. Theodore Urch medaled with a co medalist from Mankato East. The scores for Owatonna’s Varsity were Theodore Urch 76, Peter Jones 77, Jeffery Johnson 86, Gage Schuster 94, Logan Langer 85 and Andrew Wall with an 85. Senior Jeffery Johnson said, “I am playing well, but there is room for improvement.” The JV also competed coming in second behind Mankato East, whose group score was a 360. the Owatonna JVs group score was 378 and John Marshalls group score a 435. The scores for the Owatonna JV were Cole Butler 97, Nick Brown 87, Joe Vanreeth 97, Ian Simon 97, Jesse Swedin and Joey Howell with a score of 113. The Owatonna boys golf team played very well.

On Monday, May 12 the Owatonna boys golf team traveled to the Jewel Invite golf meet. They came in first over 7 other teams winning with a score of 295. In second was Lake City with a 318 followed by Rochester Mayo with a 319, Byron with a 320, Rochester Lourdes with a 326, Parks with a 329, John Marshall with a 344, and in last place Wabasha Kellogg with a 390. Peter Jones and Theodore Urch both medaled. Varsity were the only ones to play that day, the individual scores are as follows: Peter Jones 69, Theodore Urch 71, Logan Langer 90, Andrew wall 76, Benjamin Konold 79, and Gage Schuster with a 82. The next meet is Thursday May 15 in Winona.
