Shaver to State
Junior Matalin Shaver will return to the State Swimming and Diving Tourament this year for the first time since eighth grade, this time alone rather than on a relay team. Shaver said, “I’m excited to see where my times land compared to sections, and also to watch how the other swimmers perform.” Shaver will swim the 50 yard freestyle on Thursday, Nov. 13 at the University of Minnesota. Along with making the State cut, Shaver finished the regular season with new school records in the 50, 100 and 200 yard freestyle. The chance to race at the State competition will be the perfect ending to Shaver’s season. With another entire season remaining, a third time to state could be a possibility. Magnet wishes Shaver the best as she returns to State!
