Rockin’ the Rockets
The Owatonna Varsity Girls Basketball team just came off an important home win against Mankato West. They are 8-8 overall and 8-5 in the Big 9 conference. To prepare for their upcoming game against 14th ranked Rochester John Marshall, the team is thinking about their game plan. Senior captain Anna Edel said, “We are going to have to shoot from the outside because they have three girls over six feet tall.” She also mentioned that John Marshall has one of the best players in the state.
Senior captain Sydney Kasper agreed with her fellow captain. She went on to say, “ That outside shots were going to be the key to giving John Marshall their first conference loss.” Like her two captains, Coach Tricia Hoffmann agreed with her two captains, and she also hopes to get a boost from the home town crowd. The Huskies have been very competitive at home, winning their last two games. If the Huskies can knock down a couple outside shots, they might just blow the Rockets out of the water. They play at home against Rochester John Marshall on January 31 at 7:30 pm.
